A rapid evidence assessment of the impact of mentoring on re-offending

The summary of this Home Office funded study suggests that mentoring is not a panacea for reducing offending and is most likely to be effective where matched pairs are meeting regularly enough to establish a meaningful relationship and where mentoring is one of a package of interventions complementing, for example, behaviour modification, education and employment programmes.
