New Equality Act Guide

03 Sep A new Equality Act comes into force from October 2010. The Equality and Human Rights Commission has created a series of guidance documents to help explain the Act and provide practical examples on how the law has changed.

Funding: Equitable Charitable Trust

03 Sep Charitable organisations working towards educating young people, especially young people with disabilities and/or from disadvantaged backgrounds can apply for funding of up to £30,000 through the Equitable Charitable Trust.

Report calls for more mentoring to enhance employment prospects of former offenders

03 Sep Turning the Corner, a report by the Young Foundation, calls for more mentoring as one of its top 20 innovations for criminal justice. The report sees mentoring as a way of creating employment, training opportunities and opening doors for mentors to go on to do more mentoring and/or social work.

New Mentoring Project: Fred Edwards Trust
